Public Transport to Odeonsplatz
How to get to Odeonsplatz by public transport, of course, also depends on which part of Munich you start from. But for orientation, take any S-Bahn to Marienplatz and then change to the subway lines U3 or U6.
From other directions, the Odeonsplatz can also be reached with the bus N40, N41, N45, 100, 153 and the subway lines U4 and U5.The Odeonsplatz in Munich
Our starting point for the sights in the center of Munich is, as always, the Marienplatz.
We reach our current station by walking along the Weinstrasse to the left of the new town hall. It takes about 10 minutes to arrive.
Every year Odeonsplatz hosts Open Air Classical concerts.
Odeonsplatz is the northern end of the pedestrian zone and the starting point of Ludwigstraße.

The Feldherrnhalle in Munich
Arrived you will discover the imposing "Feldherrnhalle". This was built on behalf of King Ludwig the First in the years 1841-1844.
The Florentine "Loggia dei Lanzi" served as a model. The monument was built in honor of the Bavarian army.

The Theatinerkirche
You can already see the Theatinerkirche with its yellow paint, which is located directly on Odeonsplatz.
It was built in the late 17th century in the style of Italian late Baroque.
If you look at the church from the inside, you will be impressed by the artfully crafted interior.

The Bronze Lions
If you need a little luck, you should not miss the Bronze Lion at the entrance to the residence.
Who strokes his snout, will be lucky.

Sightseeing Hot Spots in the City Center of Munich near to Odeonsplatz
Our starting point was, as always for the sights in the city center of Munich, the Marienplatz. On foot in about 10 minutes away.
On a sightseeing tour you also need a break. So, if you're already at Odeonsplatz, you should definitely visit the HOFGARTEN, which is right next to it. With its green areas and wells, this invites you to relax.
The residence is also located right next to Odeonsplatz. The residence was the former city palace of the Bavarian kings and princes and is absolutely worth a visit.
From the Odensplatz all attractions in the city center can be reached on foot in about 10 to 15 minutes.
